Surviving To Thriving
Survival mode is not a badge of honor. Honestly, every Q4 for the last 15 years looked the same. My hair was falling out. My nervous system was fried. My hands were shaking from overwork. In consulting, I'd get off the road and not know whether to laugh or cry because I was so exhausted. So, typically, I would do both at the same time. I called it zombie mode and in some way wore it like a badge, convinced it proved how dedicated I was. But survival, masquerading as success, is still just survival. Thriving requires systems, planning, and knowing when to slow down, or like my father says, knowing when to put something back in the tank. When we build our schedules around constant urgency, we become reactive instead of proactive. Thriving means creating space for strategic thinking, resource management, and rest. It's not about working less. It's about working intentionally. Replace the story that
exhaustion equals importance with a narrative that strategic planning equals progress. Are you ready to move from surviving to thriving?
